A tropical airmass had been hovering over Southern Ontario for about 3
days, bringing the temperatures (humidex) as high as 48C (118.4F) here
in St. Catharines, and even up to 49C in other places. Then a minor
cold front came through triggering off severe weather. CAPE values
were over 2000 and lifted indices were -5 to -7, but the front was pretty
weak, but still set off some active weather.
