ST. CATHARINES, ONT. - A vicious windstorm that whipped through Ontario on Thursday claimed at least one life.
A man in his 70s was killed when he was struck by a door that blew off a barn or shed on his property in the Niagara region of Ontario.
In nearby St. Catharines, another man was taken to hospital after a tree fell on his car.
"He was trapped, the lines were down as well," said St. Catharines fire chief Mark Mehlenbacher. "The tree basically crushed the roof down and ... he was in really critical condition."
