New Tornado warning:

Quote:
Caledon
2:09 PM EDT Thursday 18 July 2013
Tornado warning for
Caledon continued

At 2:10 pm EDT, meteorologists are tracking a dangerous thunderstorm that is capable of producing a tornado.

Storm spotters have reported a funnel cloud just north of Orangeville and it is moving to the south or southeast at 30 km/h.

Communities in the path include: Orangeville, Caledon.

This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation.

Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.

Go indoors to a room on the lowest floor, away from outside walls and windows, such as a basement, bathroom, stairwell or interior closet. Leave mobile homes, vehicles, tents, trailers and other temporary or free-standing shelter, and move to a strong building if you can. As a last resort, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris.

If you hear a roaring sound or see a funnel cloud, swirling debris near the ground, flying debris, or any threatening weather approaching, take shelter immediately.

Environment Canada continues to monitor the situation closely. Stay tuned to your local media or Weatheradio for further updates. If you would like to report severe weather, you can send an email to [email address].

Updated or ended by 3:10 PM EDT.

The cells south of ottawa that are on warning, they look very turbulent, but unorganized. im watching those for a while. My attention though is on the line of cells moving in from lake huron over the next 3 hours. they seem to be sustaining themselves well, and convection numbers and shear values suggest that they will get stronger as they hit southern ontario to possibly form into a good squall line.
