I've taken cover with my cat; can't access radar. How do things look now?

That was the worst storm I have been in.

Ben, you're safe to come out now.

Lots of damage in Kitchener... possible tornado.

lol stormy kid, the same thing happened here. I didn't see the flash but holy crap that clap of thunder was loud.

Other than the wild awesome light show with the loudest thunder I've ever heard, horrible storm. I don't think the wind gusted higher than 50km/h and no hail fell at all. The downpour wasn't even that good. Just another "severe" thunderstorm in Kitchener. >.<

Stormydude, did your ears pop during the tornado warning? Our heads felt like they were bursting, friends experienced the same.

Holy..mother..of..WOW..

I take what I said back earlier

A storm built behind the one that missed me and it was INTENSE! No wind...a little rain..but..THE LIGHTNING MADE IT UP FOR EVERY BIT OF IT..I had three of the closest encounters to lightning I've ever had.

Lightning struck the house next to me
Lightning struck a metal pole on MAY house while I was standing outside
Lightning struck a tree across the yard and it smells like burnt wood outside

And lightning kept striking everywhere around me..the core was right over top of Oshawa one strike after another..AMAZING>_<

Derecho, I didn't feel a thing. It was must have hit Waterloo. Or were you in downtown Kitchener at the time?

After the storm passed, I actually heard this random whistling sound and then the wind picked up just a little to about 40 km/h or so I'd say. The first thing that came to my mind was tornado.

Did it happen after the storm passed?

Lightning was nuts. Struck across the road from me twice. Didn't see much else than rain and lightning. The abck end of this beauty is still producing photogenic lightning, but alas i must go to work.

Thanks, Derecho.

My friend in Burlington is just emerging from her basement now; not sure how (or if) it's bad yet.
