Predict the number of tornadoes in 2013 - ON only

Guess the number of tornadoes confirmed in Ontario for the year of 2013.

Edit: Oops! It says 2014 in the title, but it's for 2013! Mod help?

7-13 for me. It seems to have become progressively slower over the last handful of years. It definitely has here, as far as severe tstorms go.

I went with 14-20 based on estimates it could be an active severe season for the Midwest, Great Lakes, and Northeast. No idea though! Since 2000 there have been 5 years with over 14 tornadoes... meaning 8 years were below that threshold including that puke worthy 2002 with only 4 tornadoes . Hoping for a good and active storm season(minus all the destruction!) this year to make up for 2012's falter.

2009 and 2011 were quite active. I'd be happy with a similar season this year

After last years poor showing, I'm hoping for a banner year (without the devastation, of course) I'm saying 21 - 27...

It really does depend on where most of Ontario's severe wx does end up occurring. Take last year for example, most of the severe wx occurred in no-mans land. I remember countless times where a classic supercell with a nice hook could be seen on radar and EC would put a tornado warning...but the storm was literally in the middle of no where. This meant that no reports would be received and even if a tornado did occur with the storm...it would never be confirmed. I'm hoping more severe wx will occur in Southern Ontario this year, so I'm gonna go with 14-20

I picked 21-27... maybe a little ambitious, but I think it could be an interesting season... April has been a wet month thus far, and storm systems have been tracking through. So far, looks like we're up to 1 tornado from what I've read this evening. Just as long as the 500mb jet doesn't end up in Alaska like last year, I think we'll be good lol.
