Default May 27, 2015 Severe T-storm warning & watches issued

Severe watches up from Windsor to Haliburton

Severe t-Storm Warning up for Windsor - Leamington - Essex

Code:
Warnings

1:20 PM EDT Wednesday 27 May 2015
Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for:

Windsor - Leamington - Essex County

Updated or ended by 3:18 p.m. EDT.

At 1:20 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, dime to nickel size hail and heavy rain.

The thunderstorms are located along a southwest to northeast line over eastern Lower Michigan near the international border and are moving northeast at 75 km/h. Wind gusts of 90 km/h or greater will be possible with these thunderstorms.

Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!

The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.

Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please monitor local media or Weatheradio. To report severe weather, send an email to storm.ontario@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports to #ONStorm.
