 A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM MAY PRODUCE 100 KM/H GUSTS AND TORRENTIAL
 DOWNPOURS WITHIN THE NEXT HOUR.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE IMMINENT OR OCCURRING IN THE AREA.
 THESE STORMS MAY PRODUCE LARGE HAIL, DAMAGING WINDS OR HEAVY
 RAINFALL.  REMEMBER THAT SOME SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN ALSO PRODUCE
 TORNADOES.

MONITOR WEATHER CONDITIONS AND TAKE IMMEDIATE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS IF

I was up in Thorold at a backyard BBQ, and knew there were storms forecast. I heard rumbling but thought it was a truck or something passing by. I checked the radar on my phone and saw a great localized cell passing along the shore (far to the north of me - Thorold is basically south-end St. Catharines). Unfortunately by the time I left and got toward the north-end it had already passed and was dissipating as it went.

55,000ft cloud tops, severe thunderstorm warning issued. Not a bad way to end the day.

I saw a nice shelf at grand bend around 12:30 PM looks like another cell approaching now.

Damn. I'm from the falls and my girlfriend and I cruised all the way up to waterford, constantly checking this site and the radar and low and behold something was happening in my own backyard haha. Hopefully we'll see something tomorrow

It looked GREAT on the radar loop coming from Hamilton/StoneyCreek/Grimsby but as it hit St. Kitts->NOTL it kind of vanished. I have some video I'll try and get online later on.

(this video is also posted in the video section) Nothing spectacular but I really found that cloud lowering interesting. It seemed to be breaking up (as was the whole storm) by the time we got the camcorder out

Hey darksky, i was able to get to the lake a little earlier than you, and got this video. would have been nice to get to the grimsby area it looked much nicer on radar there.

Nice storm went through the Barrie area an hour and a half ago I caught the bottom end as it went through stroud. Continuous lightning and low visibility rain with about 80k wind.....as much as I like seeing structure in the day I like the intense lighting at night

Awesome Obwan! That lowering must have been the same we saw (but later, and dissipating) as we were approaching from the south.

I caught it as it was rolling through, all thunder and that was it. Watched it roll from Port Dalhousie to Port Weller and I was amazing to watch the low clouds just roll around ... was a good storm going on out over the lake as visability went to nothing ... could barely make a ship that was sitting outside of port weller ...
