Default Jun.11/2014: St. Catharines/Grimsby tornado warning

Not getting my hopes up to high because of previous let downs this month but there is a forcast for a 5% severe weather probability for parts of southern ontario today with a 2% tornadic risk in some areas, im noticing on the temperature maps available on wunderground http://www.wunderground.com/wundermap/ that there is some heating going on directly after this wave of rain comes through this morning but most of the convection levels seem low...but maybe, just maybe one good storm comes out of this :P

Tornado Warning for St. Catharines - Grimsby - Northern Niagara Region

Quote:
11:05 PM EDT Wednesday 11 June 2014
Tornado warning in effect for:

St. Catharines - Grimsby - Northern Niagara Region

Updated or ended by 12:02 a.m. EDT.

At 11:05 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado.

The thunderstorm is located just northwest of Fenwick and is tracking northeast at 40 km/h.

Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Tornadoes at night cannot be seen and may strike suddenly. Sometimes they are preceded by strengthening winds, large hail, or an approaching whistling or roaring sound.

In Canada, lightning kills up to 10 people every year.
Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors.

Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.

Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required, so stay tuned to your local media or Weatheradio. Email reports of severe weather to [email address] or tweet with the hashtag #ONStorm.

Saw some nice cells earlier this evening as i drove into the GTA earlier and some lightning as i drove out of the GTA. At least its not a total weather bust with that tornado warning earlier. Still craving a good severe-weather day though.
