Photos and Video May 30, 2015 - severe tstorms (Time lapse video + photos)

Just a couple quick cell phone shots my girlfriend shot while I was driving around town, and a time-lapse had set up shooting out the window at home...

Nice! Those images with darker skies and with the boats lined up offshore look pretty ominous.

First one of the year:

Quote:
Weather summary for Southern Ontario and the
National Capital Region issued by Environment Canada
At 1:56 P.M. EDT Thursday 4 June 2015.

First tornado of the year confirmed.

The combination of a sharp cold front crossing Southern Ontario
Saturday and a weather disturbance moving through on Sunday brought
quite the dramatic change in the weather last weekend in addition to
confirmation of the first tornado of the year in Ontario.

The cold front swept across Southern Ontario on Saturday, spawning
numerous thunderstorms with heavy downpours and isolated strong and
gusty winds.

Thunderstorms became briefly severe over the City of London early
Saturday afternoon. Damaging wind gusts estimated at 100 to 120
kilometres per hour from a microburst were responsible for the
failure of a roof and tree damage. As well, an air conditioner on
the roof of a shopping centre was pushed off its pedestal.

In the bryanston to St. Marys areas, there were also reports of wind
damage to trees and minor damage to buildings.

A barn was damaged halfway between the communities of thorndale and
bryanston, northeast of London. An investigation by university of
Western Ontario engineers and an analysis by Environment Canada has
confirmed that a brief tornado occurred around 2:30 PM. The tornado
has been rated an Enhanced Fujita scale EF1 tornado with estimated
wind speeds of 175 km/h.

Significant rainfall accumulations were also reported from Saturday's
thunderstorms and the rain that fell on Sunday. Rainfall amounts have
already been reported and will not be repeated here.

Please note that this summary may contain preliminary or unofficial
information and does not constitute a complete or final report.

END/OSPC

END
