I had just started to chase storms a month before......was all hyped up all day, not for tornado's but at least a strong storm.....left work at 5 met a buddy....was parked at the 400 and canal road as reports of tornados came on the radio......my buddy was the only one with access to radar.....and he couldn't find his phone!! he lost it between his last job of the day and meeting me.......we called my gf to get her to check radar but there were so many little cells all over and we didn't even know about kbuf radar because we were so ignorant at that time......ended up driving all over and missed a tornado 10 minutes to our east.......oh man what a piss off......but what an exciting evening though.......too bad the one kid died in all of that.....i feel guilty about being happy about that day when someone died....but that aside man i'd love to live that day over again now, with more knowledge of storms and with the iphone and level 3 radar......
it's funny after this day being such a rookie i was thinking man at this rate seeing a tornado should be like shooting fish in a barell.........was i ever wrong!

A cold front from Petawawa to Goderich this afternoon will move slowly to the south this evening. Two areas of showers and thunderstorms have developed ahead of this front. One area is over lower Michigan approaching Southwestern Ontario and the other is over parts of Eastern Ontario. Some of these thunderstorms may become severe with wind gusts to 90 km/h, hail to 2 cm in diameter and torrential downpours.

I was watching some video's of the outbreak today as well as TWN's presentation about the outbreak and I still cannot believe that it has been 2 years since that insane day. Sad to see it long gone actually. What I would do to see another outbreak like that
