Default April 27, 2011 Shelf cloud over London

Interesting day where a nice shelf cloud through early on

Saw an updraft with twist to it at 8 am!
A radar grab from this time shows storms NW of London already going on

A few hours later a storm with mushy upper levels approached but the structure below the base quickly got my attention.
Shelf cloud with some banding , a collared base and a huge inflow tail

Here are some radar grabs of the next system

These shots are looking west

Getting closer I notice a large core dumping to my south and clarity reveals some great looking structure

view to the south, that building in the distance is the children's hospital

The second line of storms that caused the tornado reports did go through London later on with winds close to 80K but the structure at the time was undefined and high based so pics were not really worth it

For now here is a video I found of the day on youtube, I have some great video but I need to edit
