AFTER RECEIVING REPORTS OF DAMAGE FROM THUNDERSTORMS THAT IMPACTED
PORTIONS OF EASTERN LAMBTON COUNTY IN SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO SATURDAY
EVENING, AN ENVIRONMENT CANADA DAMAGE SURVEY TEAM WAS SENT TO THE
AREA TODAY TO TRY AND DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE DAMAGE. TWO AREAS
OF DAMAGE HAVE BEEN INVESTIGATED. THE FIRST AREA WAS NEAR THE
INTERSECTION OF CHURCHILL LINE AND FOREST ROAD, AND THE SECOND
AREA WAS NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF LASALLE LINE AND FOREST ROAD.

THE DAMAGE IN THE FIRST AREA INCLUDED SIX LARGE HYDRO TOWERS THAT
WERE BROUGHT DOWN, WHILE IN THE SECOND AREA, DAMAGE INCLUDED TREES
THAT WERE BROUGHT DOWN AND STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO OUTBUILDINGS.

THE INVESTIGATION HAS DETERMINED THAT THE LIKELY CAUSE OF THE DAMAGE
WAS A TORNADO AND DOWNBURST WINDS. THIS IS AN ONGOING INVESTIGATION
AND THIS BULLETIN WILL BE UPDATED AS MORE INFORMATION BECOMES
AVAILABLE AND THE STRENGTH OF THESE TORNADOES BECOMES ASSESSED.

THIS WEATHER SUMMARY CONTAINS PRELIMINARY INFORMATION
AND MAY NOT CONSTITUTE AN OFFICIAL OR FINAL REPORT.
