View Full Version : Ontario Hurricane History 1878 to Present

With hurricane season really picking up now, I thought it would be interesting to look up how many tropical cyclones have affected Ontario since record keeping began.

I included the first point of the province to be impacted, sort of like the "landfall" point. Most of them moved northeast, so anywhere northeast of the first impact point was affected.

The strength is how strong the cyclone was when it reached Ontario., not how intense the cyclone was when it made landfall in the USA. Interesting to note, there are a handful of systems that were still tropical storms when they reached Ontario. Most of them where extratropical or depressions by the time they reached here, though. I included how strong the winds where when any cyclone reached Ontario.
