Discussion of thunderstorm potential.

Today..Over Southern Ontario isolated thunderstorms. There is a
slight risk that some of the storms especially over Extreme
Southwestern Ontario may be severe with damaging winds heavy
downpours and large hail as the main threats. Over Central Ontario
isolated thunderstorms ahead of a cold front. There is a slight risk
that some of these storms may be severe with damaging winds and
Large hail as the main threats.

Tonight..Over Southern Ontario and the Nickel Belt isolated
thunderstorms ahead of a cold front. There is a slight risk that
Some of these storms may be severe with damaging winds heavy
downpours and large hail as the main threats.

Tuesday..Over Southern Ontario isolated thunderstorms ahead of a
Cold front. There is a slight risk that some of these storms
especially over Eastern Ontario may be severe with heavy downpours
damaging winds and hail as the main threats. Over Northwestern
Ontario isolated thunderstorms. There is a slight risk that some of
these storms may be severe with damaging winds and large hail as the
main threats.

A severe thunderstorm is defined as having one or more of the
following

- wind gusts of 90 km/h or greater.
- hail of 2 centimetres diameter or greater.
- rainfall rate greater than 50 millimetres in 1 hour or less.
- tornadoes
