To tell you the truth I was having my 8am coffee, saw the title on the homepage and thought, 'no way!'.:D I blame the fact that I had just woke up. Yup, that's the reason.

Dan for Mayor was filmed here in KW, we watched some of the filming Uptown. Watching the filming of low budget Canadian tv shows is pretty boring.

Yah they just filmed "Happy Town" (ABC series I think) here... closed down our downtown park for it: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1379722/

They film quite a bit of stuff in this area constantly though. But I'm sure any city has stuff going on that we don't here about too.

Other stuff filmed in St. Catharines: http://www.imdb.com/search/title?locations=St.%20Catharines,%20Ontario,%20Canada

Niagara on the Lake: http://www.imdb.com/search/title?locations=Niagara-on-the-Lake,%20Ontario,%20Canada

Niagara Falls: http://www.imdb.com/search/title?locations=Niagara%20Falls,%20Ontario,%20Canada

Never realized Niagara is such a hub for film and television. Maybe you lot are well on your way to getting Twister 2 filmed there. After all, Bill Paxton said just before Xmas that he'd be up for a sequel.;)
(Gillian Anderson also said she'd be more than happy to reprise the role of Agent Dana Scully in a possible 3rd X-files movie:D)

Hehe, they'd never shoot a chase movie here - this is the WORST area for chasing! Lake to the north, US to the east, lake to the south, cities all in between, congested highways, and too much other obstruction between the cities! :) Actually there's quite a bit of flat land out in the rural areas. Just not enough room to move around being wedged in on 3 sides.

But as for Twister.. I can't see a 2nd film working. It's been 14 years since Twister came out, so I'm not sure how any story would work that hasn't already been done as a cheap TV movie already. Maybe Twisters vs. Aliens vs. Predator or something... but the main reason Twister was a great success is that it brought the excitement of chasing to the average Joe who knew nothing about it. Now that it's been done, Discover/TLC do countless storm documentaries, YouTube is out there, etc.. I'm not sure any new movie on storm chasing would attract many moviegoers.

Does the idea of a 3D Twister sequel appeal to you? It's why it's being discussed right now online. With Avatar and Alice in Wonderland, they are looking into other possible 3D epics that can use the same graphic effects, especially with Avatar. Imagine an EF5 twister barreling towards you onscreen in 3D.

It would be neat to watch, but I think after about 30s of watching 3D computer-generated twisters, if there wasn't something else VERY intriguing about the movie, I'd fall asleep. I'm just not sure what story themes they could implement with the same characters that would keep my interested. But hey, that's why hollywood writers get paid the big bucks, to have such "GREAT" stories in their blockbusters [insert massive amounts of sarcasm here].

So yah, most people (not me) would pay $12 to watch 90mins of 3D computer effects with no storyline and bad dialogue, there's tons of historical proof (Transformers anyone?).

I'm open minded about it all. I love the cheesy made for tv tornado/storm movies, all those lame disaster movies, and Twister! I have no doubts that it would be a horrible script, but I'm just intrigued by the 3D aspect. If I'm going to sit through a horribly scripted movie with awesome special effects, it might as well be Twister 2. :p
