NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION ISSUED BY ENVIRONMENT CANADA
AT 3:44 PM EDT WEDNESDAY 3 JULY 2013.

==WEATHER EVENT DISCUSSION==

NINTH TORNADO OF THE SEASON CONFIRMED IN ONTARIO.

ENVIRONMENT CANADA HAS CONFIRMED THE OCCURRENCE OF THE 9TH TORNADO OF
THE SEASON IN ONTARIO. BASED UPON DESCRIPTIVE EVIDENCE FROM A
RELIABLE SOURCE, THE 9TH TORNADO IN ONTARIO OCCURRED ON FRIDAY, JUNE
28 AT APPROXIMATELY 3:45 PM IN SPRINGWATER, ABOUT 10 KM NORTHWEST OF
BARRIE. IT IS BEING CLASSIFIED AS A LOW END ENHANCED FUJITA SCALE
ZERO (EF-0) WITH MAXIMUM WIND SPEEDS AT THE GROUND JUST REACHING 90
KM/H. NO DAMAGE HAS BEEN REPORTED.

THE ENHANCED FUJITA OR EF-SCALE IS DIVIDED INTO SIX CATEGORIES WITH
EF-0 BEING THE WEAKEST AND EF-5 BEING THE STRONGEST. ON AVERAGE, 12
TORNADOES ARE VERIFIED EACH YEAR IN ONTARIO DURING A SEASON THAT RUNS
FROM LATE APRIL UNTIL EARLY OCTOBER.
